To boldly go....

This. Is. Big.

They found a new planet.

In the constellation Libra.

And here's the cool thing:
It can support life.

Well, they're not 100% sure, but it's pretty promising.  HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE?!

It would change everything. Our existence as we know it would change. We could communicate with those from another planet, learn different cultures, languages... it's incredible. Could you imagine if we had the technology to transfer back and forth between planets? All the things we would discover! I can't believe that another planet with God's children is out there. That we may have found it.

This is just so cool!
....And yes, I'll admit, it gets my sci fi nerdy side thinking.
Starships and phaser guns mostly.
With the occasional transporter pad and hypospray thrown in for good measure.

They wouldn't have pointy ears would they? Probably not. *arches eyebrow* That is highly unlikely. *Big sigh.*
But, they could know of a planet that did, couldn't they!? THEY COULD!!
*Rejoices*

But anyway, back to the realistic side of things. The place where pointy eared, gorgeously handsome, dark haired, chocolate eyed people do not exist.

I'm thinking we will need to find a way to get there.  May I suggest that I be the one to drive the spaceship.

This is me. As a blonde little boy. Flying my little red space ship and laughing for joy as I do zig zags across space because guess what? NO STUPID TRAFFIC TO BOTHER ME WHILE I'M DRIVING!! Mwhahahahah!!
Now that is a dream come true.
I hate driving.
But this is space we are speaking of. Not how much operating motorized vehicles scares the living day lights out of me.

How will we approach greeting these people? Let's not reenact Dancing with smurfs, or Madagascar. And we shouldn't try Captain Kirk's approach either. "We come in peace, shoot to kill." just doesn't scream friendly.
Ah. I've got it. Chocolate. The peace offering of the galaxy.   Now that's a interplanetary housewarming gift.
