I had just translated this sentence: "Immodica ira creat insaniam." (Excessive anger creates insanity) when a car drove by, it was some kid driving and talking on his cell phone. He was ticked at whoever it was on the other line and used the "F" word about three times in a row.
...I think he needs that quote.
And I think I need a new sense of humor if the first thing I think is, "That was funny, let me go put that on my blog."
Here is my other favorite Latin sentence of the day:
"Nulla avaritia sine poena est."
Any guesses?
"No greed is without punishment."
Hey... I wonder how you say "Live long and prosper" in Latin? I am going to ask my teacher tomorrow.
And since I'm feeling suddenly very nerdy and quite Spockish I will give you my apology for the sporadic Latin lesson in intelligent vernacular.
Since you are probably all appalled at my academic glee, I will not be hortatory in asking you to join my nerdy faction though I might become a bit maudlin. But that is not my subjunctive at this current moment in space time.
...Yes, I did say "Space time". Why?
*blinks* I know some of those words; I'm still confused.
ReplyDeleteI did appreciate that irony. *laugh*
I am afraid that I would represent Captain Kirk reading this post. I am lost and not very smart.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!!
ReplyDeleteIt's ok.
Kirk doesn't know his colors, so I think you are doing alright.
He's still a little fuzzy on his shapes, too...
